Helping A Dog With Parvo?

A sick dog lying on a bed.I took my girl Pepper to the vet with parvo. They said to give her 250mg every 12 hours and the nausea pill every 12 hours and Pedialyte. We are on day three. She is lethargic and has runny bloody stools, is throwing up sticky mucus and is cold. I don't think it's not working and she's still throwing up. Her poop stinks and she has silvery looking eyes.

First: are you talking to your vet about all of these things?
You may not wish to make phone calls but try to pick a time when they may not be so busy and make sure they are making notes on her chart as this is what the vet will go by. Ask them to please ask the vet to look at the notes and advise you if they need to see her again. I do not like that she a bloody stool.
Keep good records of her health including time just like they do in the vet's office when she is there.
You can read some articles online to see if you're doing everything you can for your pup.

Remember; she is sick and should get plenty of rest but do not let her get dehydrated as that will be a big problem but do not force liquid either. Sometimes you can coax them into taking even a spoonful and that is good.
Taking care of her for a few days will be a very time consuming job but it may save her life.
If there are children around please make sure they are really gentle with her and let her rest and not play for a few days.
She needs a lot of attention and especially love right now. Talk to her also.
Sometimes you can offer a spoonful of chicken broth every few hours.

Parvo can be a slow recovery. Keep in touch with the vet whenever you are concerned.

My dog recovered from Parvo; however, it was slow.

Step 1
1. Follow all the vet's instructions.

Step 2
2. Then when your dog is ready, introduce a mixture of ground beef and cooked white rice.

Make sure the beef is boiled in water and ALL oil is drained off. Do not season it.

This takes time for your fur baby. Each pet's recovery time is different. It is very important that you follow the Vet's advice. These things that are happening is normal in most animals. This is your baby , continue the care. If any harsh changes get in touch with your Vet. Best Wishes

She will puke and poop for three to five days. Are u giving Kaopectate? Constant human touch and companionship. I slept with my german shepherd for three days and nights on bathroom floor.

He lived. But I gave kaopectate as often as allowed and lots of love. Warm water on their body also helps dehydration and cleaning off poop. My prayers r with you
