Herbs or Plants That Absorb Bad Odors?

Silver Post Medal for All Time! 255 Posts

I just evicted some filthy hoarding type renters. The entire house smells to the point that I had to rip out carpets, ceilings, and sheetrock. It has a sun room, with windows on 2 sides, sunroof, and a slate type floor. In that sun room are built in planters, in which I changed out the dirt, as they were full of cigarette butts and animal feces. Someone told me there were some plants that actually absorbed bad odors. I'd like to find out what those might be and plant some in there. Any ideas?
