I save a lot of money with this recipe.
I adapt this to the microwave by bringing it to a rolling boil in the microwave (about 6 minutes in mine). Probably less in everyone else's. :-) Just put it in a bowl that is large because it boils over easy and makes a big mess.
Mix sugar, salt and cocoa. add water to make paste. Bring to a boil stirring constantly. Boil for 3 minutes. Add vanilla and pour at once into a jar. Let cool completely before putting in refrigerator. Makes 2 cups.

This recipe was on the box of Hershey's cocoa years ago before l ever saw the syrup for sale.
Boil for three minutes and add 2 teaspoons of vanilla
Store in refrigerator
