Paper Weight - finished decoupaged rock paper weightThis craft is called a paper weight maybe because you will think it's just made of paper at first. But when you try to hold it, it's hard and heavy. Rocks are not just used in concrete structures. They can also be made into great home decor. They are just everywhere waiting to be picked up and beautified.



  • rock
  • old magazine
  • white glue
  • your favorite quote
  • paint brush
Paper Weight - supplies


  1. Tear magazine pages into tiny pieces.
  2. Paper Weight - tear magazine pages into tiny pieces
  3. Brush the rock all over with glue.
  4. Paper Weight - brush glue on the rock
  5. Start sticking the tiny pieces of magazine into it.
  6. Paper Weight - stick paper pieces on
  7. Write your favorite quote on a small strip of paper and stick it into the covered rock.
  8. Paper Weight - write quote on strips of paper and glue on

  9. Brush the rock with glue all over again and let dry under the sun. Repeat this process 3 to five times to make your work shiny.
  10. Paper Weight - brush on more glue over quote
    Paper Weight - add several more coats of glue
    Paper Weight - let dry in the sun
