How to Thoroughly Clean a Coffee Carafe

I make coffee and put it in a carafe. It keeps it hot then warm, but I nuke it when I want a fresh cup. But coffee has a tendency to stain plastic, so before I donated it, I wanted to clean it good. For a long time, I didn't know how to clean all the pieces parts. When I realized you take the bottom off, then you can take out the silver inner parts and clean it all.

It took a bit of coaxing for the bottom to come off, but when it did, the entire thing could be cleaned. You may need patience to put it back on too, just a heads up. When it was done, it was soaked in bleach water and put back together. I hope if you get to do this someday, these tips will help. N-JOY!

I'm with you on this message as I do not like unclean items in my house and I will not donate anything that I have not cleaned.
I just happen to already know about this little tip as a friend had to replace the 'silver lining' and that was how it was done.
This tip will work on almost any of the containers/thermos that have the breakable silver linings.
Thanks Sandi - hope all is well with you and your family.

Thanks. I also figured out how to pull the handle off a spatula and clean both parts. Yuk!! We are as well as can be expected. Hope you are well, too.

I have found baking soda cleans coffee stains and many other kitchen items.
