Identifying A Houseplant? (Brown Spiderwort)

Identifying A Houseplant - plant with variegated leaves and tiny flowersI am taking care of a this plant for a friend. Neither of us know what type of plant it is. It has a reddish "fuzz" on the leaves and has recently started growing small purple flowers (not often, however).

This plant requires very little attention. I put it outside on the porch in the summer (indirect sunlight). It seems to love the heat and I bring it inside during the winter months.

Is anyone familiar with this plant? I'd like to know the name at least.

Looking forward to your replies!

I still believe this is a Brown Spiderwort. I have had different begonias for many years and they bloom profusely for many months.
I looked at the link given for begonias and there are a lot of nice plants pictured but I did not see anything similar to this plant. And lots of flowers.

Kcfuqua1 did say the plant had a fuzz on the leaves and small flowers (but not often, however). Begonias flower quite a lot and very often.
Here is a description of the Brown Spiderwort;
The whole plant is covered with fine rust-colored hairs. Purple flowers, about lin/2.5cm wide, emerge from the center of the rosette in summer.
Seems like it matches this plant and the longer leaves match perfectly with the photos given in previous link.

Yes, I have a plant like this. It is sometimes commonly referred to as Moses in a Boat because of the way the flowers come up from the very center of the rosette of leaves. Sometimes classified as a tradescantia and sometimes as rhoeo.

There are three varieties of spiderwort that are known by the name "Wandering Jew." It is likely one of these.
