I have a John Deere L130 tractor. I just replaced the starter because the old one wasn't working. I have the starter in and the battery is charged. When I start the engine I hear the starter turning, but the engine will not crank. The starter is making a whirling noise, but like I said the engine will not crank. Any ideas?

Sound like your starter isnt engaging with the flywheel. Have you verified that your starter is the correct one and is seated correctly? Also check your flywheel for damaged or missing teeth.
It's not holding the start, maybe spark plugs need replacing, along with a clean filter!
