Make Your Own Photo Postcards

Here's a cheap way you can your own postcards that are meaningful to you, if you don't want to outsource it. The fact is, in some ways outsourcing it to a digital printer is faster and not too pricey, but if you already have a bunch of 4 x 6 photos and don't want to pay more than a few dollars on supplies, this is a good method.

Total Time: 1 hour

  1. Choose your photos. Usually you may want to use photos of you, your family, and your friends, but you could also want to be more artistic and take photos of things you like.
  2. Measure the poster board with your ruler, so that the poster board or card stock is subdivided into 4x6 rectangles.
  3. Cut up your board with your guillotine or utility knife.
  4. Add glue to the back of the photo. If using white craft glue, apply with a brush and make sure you have a very thin layer so that you don't get overflow which can make it very unattractive.
  5. Affix the double sided tape to the edges of the photo, where there is no glue. This will keep the cardstock from separating from the photo.
  6. Stick the photo and cardstock together very carefully. Ideally there will be no overlap and the photos will look natural.

  8. Especially if you used liquid craft glue, stick your photos in a heavy book so that they don't get curled.
  9. Now your postcards are ready to send!
