Autumn Leaves Centerpiece - flipped over with an LED light underneathThis is a fun and easy project for the fall that will look great on your table. Cloth leaves molded around a bowl and held together by Mod Podge makes a beautiful visual. You can use this as a bowl facing upwards, or turn it upside down over an LED light for a beautiful autumnal glow.

Total Time: 30 minutes, not including dry time

Supplies:

  • bowl
  • plastic wrap
  • Mod Podge
  • paintbrush
  • artificial cloth leaves
  • scissors
  • mini LED light
Autumn Leaves Centerpiece - supplies
 

Steps:

  1. Turn your bowl upside down and place a piece of plastic wrap on top to cover it.
  2. Autumn Leaves Centerpiece - turn bowl upside down and cover with plastic wrap
     
  3. Spread some Mod Podge on top.
  4. Autumn Leaves Centerpiece - spread Mod Podge on top of the plastic
     
  5. Add some leaves on top of the Mod Podge.
  6. Autumn Leaves Centerpiece - leaves stuck to the Mod Podge
     
  7. Cover the leaves with more Mod Podge.
  8. Autumn Leaves Centerpiece - paint Mod Podge over the leaves

  9. Add more leaves on top and down the sides of the bowl. When you're happy with the size and shape of it, cover everything in one more layer of Mod Podge.
  10. Autumn Leaves Centerpiece - continue adding more leaves to top and sides - when done cover with one more layer of Mod Podge
     
  11. For best results, allow to dry overnight. You can use a hairdryer to speed up the process.
  12. Autumn Leaves Centerpiece - allow to dry overnight or use a hair dryer, the slow method is best
     
  13. When completely dry, gently lift the plastic wrap up off the bowl.
  14. Autumn Leaves Centerpiece - when completely dry gently lift the plastic off the bowl
     
  15. Peel the plastic wrap off the leaves.
  16. Autumn Leaves Centerpiece - peel the wrap away from the leaves

  17. Trim any excess clear dry Mod Podge that hangs off the side of the leaves.
  18. Autumn Leaves Centerpiece - trim off excess dry Mod Podge
     
  19. Use as a bowl or turn upside down on top of an LED light.
