Mock Sandblasted Valentine's Day Lantern

Valentine's Day is a day to celebrate the love existing between a couple. Turn old cheese spread glass jars into romantic lanterns and use them to set the mood for a special Valentine's dinner.

Tip: For each jar, only a little bit of spray paint is used, so with one can of spray paint, one could make a few of these lanterns.

Total Time: one hour, including drying time

Yield: one lantern

Supplies:

Steps:

  1. Punch eight flowers from the cardstock.
  2. Lightly spray the one side of the flowers with the Heritage Contact Glue and allow to dry.
  3. Position the flowers all around the glass jar.
  4. Use cotton wool and methylated sprites to clean the jar all around the flowers.
  5. Ad

  6. Place the jar upside down and spray with the Spraymate Sandblast spray paint.
  7. Allow to dry and add a second layer.
  8. Allow to dry thoroughly before removing the cardstock flowers.
  9. Use the cotton buds and methylated spirits to gently remove any glue residue from where the flowers were positioned.
  10. Tie ribbon around the neck of the jar and make a bow.
  11. Hot glue the polymer clay rose to the bow.
  12. Add the candle and voila!
