Mould and Mildew Spray to Clean Toilet

Bronze Post Medal for All Time! 239 Posts

Cleaning the toilet.Cleaning around your toilet seat hinge can be fiddly and time consuming. A cloth won't get into all the cracks and crevices. Antibacterial spray is good for getting in there and killing the germs but won't banish the stains.

I find that a mould and mildew spray, which mostly consists of bleach, is brilliant for getting rid of unsightly yellowing and it kills bacteria too

I make my own with a spray bottle, some water and bleach. You don't have to buy it.

Want to share this chuckle with you. I just finished washing the bathroom sink and said I do the toilet later. With big guys in the family the toilet I do daily. So I decided to see if anyone has an easier cleaning idea than me.

Whoa there in front of me was this remedy by one of the Thrifty fun readers.I have an old bottle of mold cleaner which has been under my sink for months. Thanks to the advice I have a toilet that looks new.

My two go to disinfectant choices are bleach and vinegar. My husband always puts the seat down. He does leave his mark occasionally, but he's pretty good about cleaning up after himself.

Don't know if my reply came up. You should never mix bleach and vinegar, I think it's because of the fumes.

Hi realestatemama from across "the pond". That's brilliant to hear. Haha - it's always the men in our lives that cause us problems with the toilet seat!

My husband actually puts the seat down when he's finished in the bathroom. LOL He grew up with his Mom, and two sisters. His dad was away a lot working.

He does leave his "Mark" sometimes though. I love this idea. Bleach and Vinegar are my go to cleaners.
