Put Chicks Under Broody Hen

Bronze Feedback Medal for All Time! 116 Feedbacks

A good thing a brooding hen can do for you is raise some new chicks. You can buy some hatchlings, and put them under her in the evening. She will take full responsibility for food, warmth, and safety.

I think my hen is broody for no other reason than she fully attacks me when I get the eggs out of the nest. She can attack also during feeding time. It's totally bizarre to be attacked by a hen! I have to make sure all my skin is covered because she breaks skin! I don't see her on the nest all the time - but her general aggressive ways led me to believe that. Any thoughts?
