Repairing a Kenmore Sewing Machine?

I have a Sears Kenmore model 33 sewing machine. The pressure foot knob is stuck in the down position. What can I do? Also at the same time the knob that locks the stitch in for the zigzag stitch is stuck. I cannot turn it at all.

The first thing to check is for build up of threads, fabric pieces, and dust/dirt ,and clean out of bobbin housing. This can make your machine to malfunction and sensitive to continue use!

You have somthing stuck in the machine that is locking the machine. You will need to remove the plate, bobbin holder, and casing in order to locate what is blocking the machine from turning. If you can not move the wheel of the machine check inside under the feed dog and remove what is there.

Now try turning the wheel again when it is all cleaned out before putting it back together.
