Chicken GizzardsWarm and comforting during those cold football weekends!

Ingredients:

Directions:

Heat oven 250 degrees F.

Clean the gizzards and roll in flour, put in skillet of hot oil. Season with salt and pepper. Brown each side and remove from grease. Put on greased aluminum foil in overproof dish. When all gizzards are browned, mix your choice of soup with 1/2 can of water, pour over browned gizzards. Seal foil tightly and put in warm oven. Cook for at least 1 1/2 hours.

You can substitute purchased deep fried gizzards and do the same thing.

This one of our staple appetizers for football weekends.

I love gizzards and this recipe sounds yummy! I think I'll do it without adding water to the soup for an extra thick and flavorful coating :-) Thanks for sharing!

Be careful not to eat this too often, as good as it is, chicken gizzards are very high in cholesterol. One cup of just chicken gizzards alone has 537 mg of cholesterol.
