Stuffed Vienna Bread Recipe

Stuffed Bread.


  • Use a day old unsliced loaf of Vienna Bread
  • 8 oz. to 1 lb shredded swiss cheese
  • 8 oz. to 1 lb chopped fresh mushrooms
  • 1 can chopped drained black olives-optional

  • 1 chopped green pepper-optional
  • 2 sticks butter or margarine
  • 2 Tbsp. finely chopped onion
  • 2 Tbsp. poppy seed
  • 1 tsp. seasoned salt
  • 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp. dry mustard


Lay loaf of bread on aluminum foil on a cooky sheet. Cut bread to resemble a pineapple to 1/2 inch from the bottom crust forming diamond patterned cuts. Stuff vegies and cheese between sections. Melt butter and seasonings in saucepan and pour over bread. Wrap foill around bread, seal with sandwich fold, and bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes. Open foil and serve with a fork for pulling pieces from loaf. Yummy!

Loaf can be stuffed and stored in fridge until needed. Add melted butter and seasonings just before baking.

This bread always makes a hit at parties.

I have been making this for years. I also cut up ham. it is the hit at all the parties and always a request from all my sons friends.


We have made it like pizza to with pepperoni. Everyone must make it.

Make 1 inch slant cuts in bread to within 1/2 inch of bottom. Place bread on foil. Slice cheese and stuff cuts. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over bread. Wrap completely.
