Use Sticky Rice as Postage Stamp Adhesive

Don't you hate it when you incorrectly address an envelope you have already applied postage too? Then peel off the stamp and it no longer has adhesive?

My Japanese mother-in-law taught me to chew up or mash a piece of cooked rice (Japanese sticky) and use it to glue the stamp! It works! In many Asian families it is common to always have cooked rice handy.
