Sprinkle 1/2 cup into the empty washer before adding dirty laundry.

You can use baking soda, washing soda, borax, and vinegar in your HE washer.
Just be sure that any dry products are placed in washer (no lumps) and not in detergent dispenser as this is for liquid only.

Usually 1/2 cup of dry product is recommended and it is usually best to let clothes soak for at least 30 minutes before washing.

Vinegar instead of softener can be placed in dispenser for final rinse.
