A teacup with toys on the side. Can you tell me anything about this teacup and saucer? It looks to be for a child by the pictures on it. I haven't been able to find anything on the internet.

This shaving mug has a bottom marking which says only "Germany" (not "made in Germany"), with the number "15" in the center

The mug owner wrote "the fact that is says "Germany" and not "made in..." is significant, and makes it an older mug."

"it could date as early as 1880, but certainly before 1918 (based on the "Germany" only marking)" www.collectorsweekly.com/.../208995-vintage-german-shaving-mug...

From what I can make out, it looks like it was made in Germany, and it looks old. I would contact a dealer for antique porcelain.

Your cup has a mark "GERMANY 79".
I found an antique German Porcelain White & Peach Rose Handled Oval Dish marked "GERMANY" and two digits 68 or 89

It is listed at $28.95

This looks similar to your vintage cup/saucer & appears to be a collectible set:

I found a set of six German child's elf fairy & gnome cups & saucers with "Germany" back stamp and number listed at $215

Cups are approximately 2" tall, the saucers are 4.75" in diameter. The set is featured in Lorraine Punchards book, Playtime Pottery and Porcelain from Europe and Asia, pg. 105 and dates circa 1900, but pieces have circular "Germany" back stamps.
