What Is This Houseplant?

What Is This Houseplant? - tall dracaena like plantWe've had this plant for awhile, but I'm still not sure how to take care of it. I was wondering if anyone knew what plant this is and has some advice on how to care for it?

i believe your plant is in the Dracaena Family and looks like a Dracaena Marginata but there are many similar plants.

If the canes of a Dracaena Marginata House Plant become long and bare at the bottom, cut the cane back to where you would like to encourage new growth. Several new stems eventually emerge below the cut.

you can check this link for information on care.

I agree this is a dracena. It likes bright light, but not direct light. Do not overwater, or you can kill it.

I have to agree that this is a Dracaena Marginata plant. You will need to keep the dead branches trimmed from time to time. This helps promote growth in the plant. It will also make your plant fuller.

Keep it away from the windows, but find a nice sunny place in your home. Water it only when the soil is really dry. Don't over water the plant and don't expose it to direct sunlight.

I agree it is a dracaena and I think that without any instruction for its care you have been doing very very well. They very often end up dying away with a ridiculously one meter long sort of ''trunk" and a few leaves at the top.

Don't change anything or maybe just a tiny bit more light but with no direct sunlight.
