What Is This Houseplant?

plant with brown tips on leavesDoes anyone know the name of this plant? It came in a funeral arrangement. I am in desperate need of care instructions. The edges of the leaves always turn brown despite how much or how little I water it.

It looks quite wild... In this weakened state, it is probably getting indirect sunlight from what your photo shows, which is best. Not sure how many
hours of light it receives though. It is possible that it might help to give it a bit of fertilizer like 10 10 10. There are little bottles of liquid fertilizer one can get and mix into water... then water plant. I would suggest that you only put half of what they recommend.

Hello Dona Taormina !

I try a wild guess : Radermachera or some sort of wild clematis.
Whatever the plant is the drying of the end of its leaves may be due to the dryness of the air. After all it could be an outdoor plant. You can try to put it away from heaters, to spray it regularly with cool water and to put water and a thick layer of gravels at the bottom of the bigger pot so that the actual pot of the plant will not sit in water of course but will be provided with moist atmosphere. If you don't have gravels you can use bits of bottle corks stoppers.

Check that there is not a space between the pot and the soil as if there is when you are watering the plant the water just goes in and out along the side of the pots and the plant is not watered at all. To find out if it is time to water the plant lightly press your finger on the soil if little parts of soil stay stuck on your finger tip it is not yet time to water the plant.
I hope your plant will get better as it will then be much easier for you to identify it. Hope this helps !
