I had the same thing happen. Take a brown paper grocery bag; cut it open so it's 1 sheet. Place over the wax. Using an iron on a low setting iron the bag over the wax area. Keep moving the bag until all the wax is gone...then just throw the bag away!

Scrape off as much as possible. Then heat up an iron. Place a clean white cloth on the spot. Iron the spot. Change the position of the cloth as wax comes on it.

Lay A piece of brown paper over the wax and then iron over it with A warm iron. This will melt the wax and the paper will absorb the wax.

Wow, it worked great with the paper bag and iron. Even after it looked like it was gone I went over the carpet a few more times and got more candle wax.

I split beige candle wax on a multi colored rug in a green & tan section . The paper bag & iron method worked amazingly well. Unfortunately, the black section of the rug without wax seems to have hardened or become crusty, as if damaged by the heat.

I was unable to iron only the area with wax . Any tips on how to correct this new problem?

I was a skeptic. (I had like 10 tea lights dump onto the floor with a thick layer of wax.) I got a damp towel and used an iron (med/high to high) heat and used the steamer. Totally worked!

Forget the ice! I think this only works for when wax is on a hard surface. The video to watch on how to remove candle wax with the spoon, forget that too! Use the brown paper bag and an iron on med-high heat with no steam. I had a fuschia candle overflow in 2 different spots, one against the wall trim.

What a nightmare! The iron and brown paper lunch bag worked fantastically! I was freaking b/c I thought I was going to lose my security deposit. Both spots are completely gone. Take my word for it, the iron is the way to go!:)

If it has set I used a blow dryer. It will probably take a while if its a very big spot.

You peel of the hard part of the candle, then fold paper towel or blotting paper and place it on the candle wax and iron on it. It does work.

Lay ice cubes on it.

Take an iron and put it on the lowest heat setting. Run the iron over the area using a cloth rag as the "buffer".

Increase the heat setting as needed. The wax and waxed paper should ultimately stick to the rag. Good luck on that!

How do I remove candle wax from carpet?

Heat up your iron (set to NO steam). Pad up several sheets of paper towels and lay them over the wax. Place the hot iron on top of the paper towels, leaving it there for several seconds. Take the iron away and put it back on again to really heat the wax and soften it.

When you are certain the wax has melted from the heat of the iron, gently pull up the paper towels from the carpet. The melted wax should have transferred from the carpet to the paper towel, neatly and cleanly. Make have to repeat the procedure, but it works a treat! Good luck with it.

You can put a few layers of white paper towels over the wax or old white 'rags' without stains, and your iron on lowest heat setting, then iron over the wax repeatedly, moving the towels or placing new ones over, until the wax comes up.

Try testing an area of the carpet first, to make sure the iron won't melt the fibers.

A candle melted on my carpet; any suggestions on how to get it up?

Luana, San Diego
This happened to me. Live and learn. I was terrified. If you are, it will be fine. I took paper towels (several at a time) an iron, heated on medium/high setting. I took several paper towels laid on top of wax and put iron on it. As soon as you see the melted wax come onto the paper towel you get new one (use 3-4 at a time). Mine luckily was white wax but if you just continue to do this it will come up; when you see what looks like a wet spot on paper towel use new ones. If after wax is all up (and it will be) if it was a colored candle you need to then use a carpet spot cleaner and it should remove color if left. I believe once wax is up there shouldn't be anything left.I have never had colors like red, so it may leave discoloration. Once wax is up carpet looks like before! Good luck. Let me know if you were as surprised as I was!

Place an old towel over the wax stain, press with a hot iron. This worked very well for me. Also, I've heard putting ice of the spot will lift the wax. I'd place the ice in a freezer bag first.
