What is the cheapest and most effective way to get human urine and fecal smell out of my hardwood floor?
No cheap or easy way to fix the odor and stain. In two houses we bought a few years ago, we ended up replacing the entire house floor because their dogs had vomited, urinated etc., in every room! Each time, the prior owners had recarpeted, hoping we would not notice the awful smell! We filed small claims actions against each owner and the judge found in our favor each time. But what a pain-had just moved in and had to remove all to refloor!!!

I had a black garbage bag full of clothes on my hardwood floor and I had it there for about a week, while it was there my two dogs were lifting their leg on it and I didn't realize this until I picked the bag up and behold a pretty big dark spot on my hardwood floor. Please can someone tell me how to get this out without having to sand and refinish?

Pour hydrogen peroxide on it. Dab it up with a paper towel. Repeat it over and over and it will slowly start getting lighter.

Over several years two male cats peed in a particular place in our living room. Will refinishing the floor ever get rid of the stain/odor? Or, should I use KILZ on the floor and put down new flooring?

As a landlord, I run into this issue over and over. If these cats did this over the period of a couple of years, you need to replace the floor in that area. KILZ will not do the trick over long term, and there is a high likelihood that the underlying plywood is starting to rot. It all needs to be replaced.
If Nature's Miracle doesn't dissolve the urine crystals, you will have to rip up the floor and install a new one.
We have light stained white oak hardwood floors. We have noticed that our 8-9 year old cat has lately been peeing on our rugs. We also suspect that the cat has been dripping urine on the hard wood floors that appears to be making smudges in various spread out areas. They are not plainly obvious, you see them at a certain angle or certain light.

You will need Baking Soda, White Vinegar, Hydrogen Peroxide (the 3% solution) and a clean cloth to remove urine stains from Hardwood Flooring.
Step 1
First you will need to make a wet paste of baking soda and white vinegar.
Step 2
Next apply the paste liberally to the stain and let it sit and remain until completely dry.
Step 3
Wipe up, and soak a clean cloth completely with Hydrogen Peroxide (the 3% solution) and lay it on the stain

Will hydrogen peroxide bleach the timber floor lighter? We have dark mahogany floors. Will hydrogen peroxide also damage the sealant so that we'll have to re-varnish the whole floor? I'm just worried that the spot will still be noticeable if its colour changes.

To remove pet stains from your hardwood floor you will need Baking Soda, White Vinegar, 3% Hydrogen Peroxide and a clean cloth
Step 1
First you will need to make a wet paste from Baking Soda and White Vinegar.
Step 2
Apply the paste liberally to the stain and allow to sit until completely dry.
Step 3
Wipe up, and soak a clean cloth with the Hydrogen Peroxide, then lay it on the stain.
I do not know if it will lighten your wood or damage the sealant. You may want to do a test spot somewhere less conspicuous. I would say its worth a shot before you have to sand, stain, and refinish the area.

Our dog was peeing on the area rug in our dining room which went unnoticed for a period of time. When discovered we took the area rug in for cleaning, but found dark stains on the hard wood floor underneath the rug and pad. Any suggestions for removal of spots and smell will be greatly appreciated?
