I have a question about a mink coat. What does it mean when you take 2 fingers together and gently rub anywhere on the coat and it matts. Anyone know what causes this?

Try brushing the coat gently and avoid getting it wet.
It is possible the coat has moisture so be sure any type fur is stored in a controlled area as most home closets are not the ideal storage area.
Try hanging the coat in an open area so you are sure it is completely dry before placing in any type of storage.
Ideally, a mink coat should be stored in a controlled storage facility and only removed when intending to wear and then be sure it is clean before replacing in the storage facility.
Do not store furs in any type of cedar closet.
