Old Door As Makeshift Desk

Gold Post Medal for All Time! 969 Posts

I am swapping a smaller craft room for the living/dining room in my apartment. The living room will be in the bedroom, and I am about half done with "The Great Swap of 2011"!

I am using a water heater closet door for a work desk, on two matching file cabinets. Being that it's not my door, I wanted to protect it. I went to the local St. V's and found a twin mattress protector for .25 and it fits perfectly!

If you need a desk or work space, an old door is great. Or perhaps you need a temporary picnic table for this year's Labor Day Picnic. This will protect it and never be seen under the tablecloth!

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the ideal of the mattress cover. We have used doors for years at our family picnics and cookouts. I saw the door used as a desk with the file cabinets on a designer show.Looked and worked great!
