I am starting the new year cleaning out closets and looking for new ways to store things. I have always wanted a better way of storing my Christmas decorative rugs instead of rolling them up.
Since I freed up several skirt hangers, it dawned on me to use them to hang the rugs. Each hanger holds 4 rugs and they are stored neatly in a spare closet with no excessive bulkiness. I am so happy I will have flat rugs to use during the holidays

Great idea. You may want to pad the clips w/some foam or fabric so you don't have dents in your rugs come Christmas time.
Great idea! I have a couple of old multiple skirt hangers (4 or 5 rungs on one hanger). I'm going to try using those.
Great minds think alike! I've been doing this for years, as I have quite a few Christmas mats I've collected over time. They all hang together at one end of a closet.
I also do this with tablecloths
Lol! I've been doing this with my holiday mats for about 30 years! Skirt hangers are also good for storing small quilts and afghans to avoid fold lines.
