Try putting a thick layer of baby powder on the stain, letting it sit for 2-3 days, and then brushing off. Repeat if needed. This procedure removed a salad dressing stain from a suede skirt for me. Might work for you. If the powder does not all brush off, tumble the jacket in the clothes dryer on the lowest heat or air dry setting, and it will come off.

My four year old cuddled me after eating hot chips and I had a tan coloured leather jacket on. I've got dark finger prints on it now. Please help.

You might try using cornstarch. Pour on a good size amount of cornstarch and let it sit for a few days. It might help to draw the oil out. I used this when I sat on something in a suede skirt (long time ago). (09/09/2009)
