Donuts in Rhyme

Ingredients

• 1 cup sugar
• 1 cup milk
• 2 eggs (beaten, smooth as silk)
• salt, nutmeg, or lemon will do
• 2 tsp. baking powder
• 2 cups flour (lightly stir this in)

Directions

Roll on pie board, not too thin. Cut in diamonds, twist, or rings

Drop dough into hot fat with care. These doughy things quickly swell. Fry in hot fat until brown. Keep on turning, just enough to keep from burning. Cool on paper, serve when cool.
