How to kill off broad leaf weeds and not damage your lawn at the same time. There is a selective weed killer, one name used is Dicadox and it works by virtue of the amount needed to kill the weed will settle, and be absorbed by a broad leafed plant whereas a narrow leafed plant, such as grass, having also a "Waxy" coating will not absorb such a dose. This weed killer shows results within twenty four hours but, with it being many years since I last used it, it is possibly no longer available as with many chemicals.
