Theme for Song Celebrating Church's Anniversary

I'm looking for suggestions for a "theme"' for a song to be performed by children on our Church Anniversary.

I'd use "We Are the Church" by Avery and Marsh. Here are the words as I remember them.
Chorus:
I am the Church
You are the Church
We are the Church together!
All of God's people. All around the world. Yes, we're the Church together.

1st Verse
The Church is not a building. The Church is not a steeple. The Church is not a resting place. The Church is a people.

Chorus
Sorry I cant remember the 2nd and 3rd versus, but this song is loved by both children and adults. I've seen it used with motions. On the chorus, you make the church with your fingers... the old one where you "Open your hands and See all the people!" Do you remember that one from childhood? You use your index fingers to make the steeple and then open your hands to see all the people. Well that works with this song.

If you check on the internet under "Avery and Marsh" you will find the music for this great song along with others they have written. They are Presbyterians. One is the pastor and the other is the minister of music.

Best of luck, Carol

Thank you Carol! That was a good song! I'm looking for more, to present the Gospel.
Since most of our gathering comes from all walks of life!
Something from the. teachings of our Saviour Lord Jesus or Saints, as he is Leading us from generations to generations. Something like that. Yes definitely your idea of index fingers' steeple, opening hands will work great & we'll insert, no matter if we go for any other song!

We are getting ready to dedicate a new sanctuary at our church in December. This is one of the songs that we will use. It is sung by the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir:

Lyrics to This Is Your House :
Chorus
This is your house, father come and dwell
This is your house, a holy house of prayer
Where the lost and the lonely, bring their burdens and their cares
This is your house, this is your house come and dwell (rep)

Verse 1
We dedicate this temple to you Lord
Let your glory fill this sanctuary
Be inproned on the praises of your people
Lord we agree, in unity.

Chorus
This is your house, father come and dwell
This is your house, a holy house of prayer
Where the lost and the lonely, bring their burdens and their cares
This is your house, this is your house come and dwell.

Verse 2
Holy Spirit overflow this place
Decorate our walls with grace and mercy
And healing and redemption, find searching souls
Lord have your way, we humbly pray.

Chorus
This is your house, father come and dwell
This is your house, a holy house of prayer
Where the lost and the lonely, bring their burdens and their cares
