In a large bowl mix the first six ingredients till smooth (I just dump the first six ingredients into the bowl) using an electric beater starting on low and then medium and pour into a 9x13 inch pan that has been greased with butter or sprayed with butter flavored cooking spray.

Sprinkle the cake mix over the pumpkin mixture and then take 1 and a 1/2 sticks of butter that has been melted and pour that over the whole thing. Should come out to 3/4 cup of melted butter, maybe a little more. Sprinkle with the nuts and bake! Check after the 50 minute mark with a toothpick and if it comes out clean then it's done! If not give it the extra ten minutes.
Also I use evaporated milk.

Is this baked in a 9x13 pan or bundt pan?

By 1-1/2 cubes of butter, do you mean 1-1/2 sticks of butter or 1-1/2 Tablespoons of butter?

Editor's Note: It should be 1 1/2 (1/2 cup) sticks, or 12 Tbsp of butter.

Sounds really good, but what do you do with it. Is it like a dump cake or what? I also would like to know what a cube of butter is.

Let me say one thing that people forget when posting a recipe is that they have to post it as if they are giving the recipe to someone who doesn't know how to cook very well. Or is new to the style of recipe that you post.

Also go to the betty crocker website and you'll find a recipe much like the one above but with good instructions!

Directions fail to list technique for combining ingredients.

what's a 13 oz can of milk?

Editor's Note: This should be a standard size for evaporated milk.

I'm sorry but this was published over 10 years ago and that member is no longer active. I'm afraid we won't get a clarification.

I think you could use either size, depending on how much you like pumpkin. I might start with the smaller one and see if it is enough. The smaller one will be firmer and the larger would be looser, I would imagine.

Good luck and let us know how it turns out. It sure sounds easy and delicious.
