How Can I Fix Dark Wall Paint That is Blotchy Looking?

I am painting walls with a dark color and did not prime, so of course it is blotchy. Now what can I do? Help.

My husband did a second coat and it seems to be ok, next time we will try Kilz I heard it works well. Thanks.

How about getting a different colour paint and a sponge and going for a stippled effect?
