Place rack in lower third of the oven and preheat to 350 degrees F.
Meanwhile, line baking sheet with parchment paper and melt chocolate chips double boiler style.
Beat egg whites, adding sugar slowly, in a small bowl until the whites are slightly stiff; slowly stir in melted chocolate. Add vanilla extract, almond extract, and then the chopped almonds.
Drop 2 level tablespoons per treat on to the baking sheets.
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until tops are completely dry and allow and cool completely before removing from baking sheets.
