This is a wonderful chocolate pie my whole family loves.


  • 1 3/4 cups sugar, divided
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 large eggs, separated
  • 4 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • Pie Crust

  • 1 package graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. melted butter


  1. First in medium bowl add the graham cracker crumbs and sugar; mix well. Add the butter and mix again.
  2. Add Ingredients to your pie pan and spread evenly around, set aside til needed.
  3. Combine 1 1/4 cups sugar, flour, and cocoa in a medium bowl
  4. Ad

  5. Beat milk and egg yolks together in medium bowl and slowly add to bowl. Mix with a whisk and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly.
  6. Remove from heat and add the butter and vanilla. Stir pudding until butter is melted. Stir once in awhile to prevent skin
  7. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  8. Beat egg whites and cream of tartar at high speed with your mixer until foamy.
  9. Slowly add remaining 1/2 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon at time, beating until it becomes stiff and sugar dissolves.
  10. Pour pudding into the graham cracker crust.
  11. With a rubber spatula carefully scoop out meringue and put it onto pudding. Carefully spread making sure to completely cover pudding and edge of crust.
  12. Bake for about 30 minutes or until lightly golden brown.

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 squares bitter chocolate
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • Ad

  • pie shell, baked


Blend sugar, cornstarch, flour and salt. Stir in the milk. Add chocolate which has been melted over hot water. Cook milk, chocolate, and dry ingredients, which have been mixed together over hot water on low heat until thick. Beat egg yolks and pour part of the mixture over them, stirring well. Return to the hot mixture and cook one more minute. Cool. Add vanilla, and pour into baked pie shell. Top with meringue made by beating the egg whites, then slowly adding the sugar, beating after each addition until mixture holds it's shape. Bake in a slow oven (325 degrees F) until the meringue is delicately browned.
