Not sure how Romanians make it but here is the Hungarian version my husband's family uses.... Enjoy!

Hungarian Galushka

½ stick margarine or butter

16 oz sour cream

1 # noodles cooked & drained

8 oz. cream cheese cut into small pieces

16 oz dry cottage cheese (regular works fine as well)

Melt margarine & sour cream in dutch oven or large fry pan. Cook over medium high heat until sour cream develops small beads & browns. Take off heat before fully brown to keep from burning the sour cream. Can always be put back over heat for additional browning.

Put cooked/drained noodles on top of the margarine & sour cream mixture in the pan coat well by stirring.

Add cream cheese & cottage cheese stir to mix in

Reduce heat slightly & cover to allow the cheeses to melt.

Will take sufficient salt to bring out the flavors so often is best to allow each person to season to taste.
