  • 2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1/2 tsp. parsley
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder
  • Ad
  • 1 jar spaghetti sauce (reg. size)
  • 1 qt. whole canned tomatoes, drain half of juice
  • 1 large container cottage cheese
  • 3 oz. Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 4 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 1 box lasagna noodles, cooked, drained


Brown onion and ground beef; drain. In a large saucepan combine seasonings, sauce, tomatoes and juice, beef, onions and mushrooms. Bring to a boil and simmer 20 minutes. Place cottage cheese, Parmesan and eggs in a bowl; stir well. To prepare lasagna, grease pan. Place layer of noodles on bottom. Place half of cheese mixture on this; then half meat mix. Place 1 1/2 cups mozzarella onto the meat. Repeat the layer again ending with remaining noodles and the remainder of mozzarella on top. Bake, covered with foil, at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes. Remove foil; bake an additional 15-20 minutes until cheese is browned in areas and bubbly. Remove from oven and let set for 10 minutes before serving.
