What Breed Was My Dog?

This was a foster dog that I soon adopted and her name was Emma. I've been trying to figure out what breeds Emma might be because she passed away a few years ago and I was hoping to try and find a similar dog. She was very lovable and had the personality of a Golden Retriever and she looked a lot like this breed called a Hovawart which I'm told is not very common at all.

I would say she was moderately active, she would run with me around the yard a little, but she also liked to just lay around. She was one of the sweetest dogs that I had from doing dog rescue. Any tips, input or thoughts on what she might have been or how I could figure it out would be very greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!

I would like to point out that, even if you did find another dog with a similar combination of genetics, there is no guarantee that dog would be anything like your former pet.

Personality and energy level vary widely within breeds. I would suggest visiting your local shelter until you find a dog that has the personality and energy level that "clicks" with you.
