If your family likes to rent DVDs, check your area for a Redbox. They are usually located at WalMart or a local grocery store. There is a website to check for locations. It only costs $1 a night and no late charges ever. If you want to keep it longer than 1 night it is just $1 each night you keep it. Current movies at a great bargain!

These are so cool! I just discovered them last month and they have the latest movies, too! You can even reserve a movie on-line!
We love Redbox! We use it at least once a week. If you sign up at www.insideredbox.com then you get a free movie code emailed to you every Monday, good only for renting on that Monday, to take the movie back by the next night. (Once we signed up, we went to another area of that website and found a list of movie codes that work at either McDonald's or Walmart for one time each.) On the free Monday movies though, if hubby checks out one movie on his bank card, and I put one on mine, we actually get two for free on Monday.
I now use my local redbox all the time. You can give them your cell phone number too and every Monday you will get a text message with a code for the free Monday movie. I have gotten one bad movie, scratched, called customer service, received a new code to replace the movie and another code for another movie. This company has to have the best customer service I have ever talked to. I much prefer redbox to the mail in servcices.
I think Redbox is fantastic, too, but I also love Netflix! I use the 2 at a time rate, but there are other options. When you aren't near a Redbox location, Netflix is great. I pay $15 a month and have rented up to 12 movies in a month.Would have cost me $48 at a video store.
Besides signing up at insideredbox.com for the free Monday rental coupon code (they'll email the code to you if you don't have a a cell phone to get a text message), other codes that should work for a free rental (once for each credit or debit card you use) are Breakroom, Redbox, and DVDonme.
check them to see how clean or dirty they are before you put them in you dvd player. I have found chunks of food on some. They may be cheap to rent but messing up your player won't be
Redbox might be good, but it's awfully expensive compared to Netflix. I use the 3 at a time plan and have gotten in as many as 27 in one month. And that's not including all the "Watch Instantly" ones. In an average month I will watch between 30-60 movies----all for $18 a month!
I think this is a good suggestion for those who only watch an occasional movie. I watch six movies a week so the gas it would take to drive back and forth to Walmart would surly negate any savings on the movie rental.
I used to use Netflix when they first had it available but I found I had all these movies coming and was paying for movies I didn't have time to watch. I find Redbox is better for me since when I know I might have time to watch a movie I can stop at the Redbox on my way home from work or when I am out. There have been times I have gotten a movie from Redbox and it took me several days to watch it so and it cost me more but that doesn't happen too often.
Beware! We returned a film the very next day to the same machine where we rented, which is what we always do and two months later Redbox charged us $27 for the DVD. We called and asked them to check the returns for the date in question and they freely admitted that the machine was broken and not recording returns. Their answer to the problem was to charge the returning customers whose returns had not been recorded by the broken machine an inflated price for the DVD. When we complained, they offered to cut the charge in half.
UPDATE: After having the manager of the supermarket where the machine was located, we were contacted and offered a refund...if we could say the name of the manager. We did and we got the refund. Bad customer relations. First reaction: The customer is wrong.
TERRIBLE COMPANY. Each time I tried to reserve a movie online their website said to try again later. I tried four times to reserve the movie and it kept saying try again later. I then got 4 emails stating all 4 movies had been reserved and charged to my credit card. Called redbox and was told they could not do anything. I went to pick up the one movie I wanted to see and all 4 came out at the same time so my CC company can't help me either. I will never use this company again. Bad customer service!
I love Redbox and have had no problems with them and usually have a code for a free movie, even so at a $1.00 a movie who can complain!
