We have a rotten egg smell in our dishwasher when it is turned on. We have rust in our water that I think turns the dishwasher black in the bottom. Please help me with this.

Me again. The rotten egg smell you are getting may be that you have sulfur in your water. It is harmless but it stinks and stains, the citric acid will remove the stains. If your dishes have the stains too, they can be in the dishwasher while using the citric acid. I wouldn't use it on metal though.

Use a couple tablespoons of Citric Acid in your dishwasher and run it through a cycle. You can get Citric Acid at the drug store. It may take a couple times if the stain is real bad. Good luck!
