We have a small house with very little storage room. One of the best things we ever did was to invest in an inexpensive closet organizer. It has helped us make room for several items that we had no idea where they would go. Not much money and defintely worth it.
Closet organizers are just plain nice no matter what size your house is. We have them in ea of our children's closets and it really does organize the space nicely. I think ours were only about $25 ea.
