Macerate 1 oz. fresh lavender flowers in 2 1/2 cups olive oil in the sunlight for 3 days, strain through a fine sieve or muslin, and repeat for three more days. Store in a dark glass bottle in a cool place and use in small quantities as needed.

As they say on TV - this is dangerous advice, please do not try it at home!

If you suspect you have been bitten by a snake please apply a compression bandage and immobilise the limb and seek medical aid as soon as possible. Do not mess around applying home remedies to the site which could interfere with identifying the type of snake from venom contamination of the bite area. This is totally innapropriate advice for the treatment of snake bite and while you are wasting time applying this concoction, the venom could be getting into your circulation and affecting your heart, nervous system, or breaking down your blood cells affecting major organs and leading to renal failure among other things, (the syptoms/effects will depend on what type of snake it is). Snake bites are easily treated these days - and can be fatal if not treated.

It is also inappropriate advice for burns and scalds which should be immediately cooled with cool water for at least 20 minutes to minimise tissue damage, and for any thing but mild redness medical help should be sought to minimise the risk of infection, delayed healing and scarring.

Regards

Jo
