Long Haired Dachshund

I know that my dog Mollie is a miniature dachshund. But judging by what I have read about the long haired type, her hair should be longer than what she has. She is definitely not a smooth hair. Any help?

Ahh... feathered makes sense. I was confused and a little jealous of the Doxies that had the longer hair although all of her paper work said she was a long hair too :P

She is "feathered". My dog is feathered. It means when they have both short hair and long hair at the same time. they call it feathered because if you look closely it looks like they have little feathery like hairs.

She definitely is long-haired because she has furry ears. You don't say how old she is. If she is a young dog, she may not have gotten all her fuzzy hair yet. My Stewie was over a year old before he got fuzzy. He had longer hair when he was younger, just silky like your Mollie. She is a beautiful color.

Sort of hard to tell from the picture. Maybe one parent was long haired and one smooth?
