I have cooked and frozen hamburger meat. Can I add that to tomato sauce, re-cook and then refreeze?

Yes, you can add it to spaghetti sauce, then re-freeze, or cook hamburger patties, and re-freeze.

I have done it before and had no trouble. I always seperate my meats when I go shopping...I shop once a month..so, I buy alot of meat. I freeze them, take out and thaw, cook whatever and then freeze leftovers. Not an issue here and no one ever got sick.

since you already cooked the meat and froze, I don't know if it's then good to thaw and cook again in sauce and freeze again.....just not sure. The idea tho of leaving the meat frozen and adding to the sauce later sounds like a good solution. I don't know that it would be harmful to eat the meat that had been cooked and frozen a couple times but it might not taste real good is all.

No. Not since you have already cooked, dethawed and reheated in a sauce. I would leave the meat frozen, cook and freeze a meatless sauce and then when you need your spaghetti, combine them both on the stove allow to simmer.

I have refrozen food after cooking for years and never had a problem. A friend of mine had her freezer go out and she caught it while everything was still very cold. She spent the day cooking but she saved the contents.

I refreeze after cooking all the time. It works great.
