Where do I find a replacement bathtub drain cover that screws off counter clockwise?

I am replacing my bathtub drain cover and basket and the replacement I purchased will not fit. I asked the people at Menard's, where I bought it, and they said there is only one size of drain. This house was built in 1983. Does anyone have any ideas?

All bath drains come with a brass converter that you just unscrew to reveal a smaller one. (09/06/2007)
