Here are my giant sunflowers I grew this year. I am only 5'2" so you can see how tall they are. Some of them are 14 feet high. They are beautiful. I have them planted in a square shape around my pumpkin patch.

Those are still my favorite kind of sunflower! you must be making up some very good dirt. I read a long time ago that good dirt is 1/3 sand, 1/3 clay, and 1/3 vegetation such as compost. That has worked for me ever since. Enjoy your flowers, especially with any kids around!
