(And the reds are less popular.) But buy a test bottle to taste to see if it was well kept and not turned by the heat or other bad handling. The older red wine is more often than not BETTER than the younger stuff you get normally, as it mellows with time. By WONDERING (Guest Post) An unopened bottle of wine can last for years if properly stored and is a corked bottle of wine. It should be stored on its side so the cork remains in contact with the wine. If it is one with a cap, it would depend on whether it is a fortified wine or a normal one.
