Place shredded potatoes in a bowl. Add cheddar cheese, green onions, salt, egg, flour and mix and then heat one inch of oil in a skillet. Once oil is hot (about 375 degrees F.) place rounded teaspoonfuls of mixture into oil. Fry until golden brown, turning once.
Hint: Do a test with one tot first and add a tad more flour to the potato mixture if it doesn't seem thick enough to hold together once dropped in the oil.
