Fun Food With Hotdogs

Here are two fun ways to serve hot dogs to kids.
  1. Barbells/Weights: Slice hot dog and place one slice at either end of a round toothpick.

  2. Octopus: Cut the hot dog in half, then slice each half about three fourths of the way down, along two sides. This will create four legs on each half. Boil the partially sliced halves until the legs bend outward - this only takes a couple of minutes.

Nearly 7 years ago when I spent a couple of months in a nursing home after a car wreck, they made "frog legs" out of hot dogs. They dyed the hot dogs green with food coloring and stuck them together at angles with toothpicks.

Cute idea! You could also make little mustard, relish and/or ketsup smiley faces on the plate for them to have fun scooping the dogs for flavoring ;-)
