When we visit the dentist they offer sample tubes of toothpaste - I always have my family get the kids kind - that way I can portion control and not have the entire tube of full sized used! It really helps us not waste. This also works for kids shampoo, etc. I pour it into smaller bottles so if (when) it gets used as bubble bath or just dumped out it isn't an entire bottle!
