I own a KIRBY G-5 carpet machine. It has the rotator brush on the roller that scrubs the carpet. I don't want to use the Kirby carpet cleaner solution anymore. I want to try the vinegar and water carpet cleaner technique. Can someone give me correct mix of the vinegar and water.

Thanks!

There is a recipe in Thriftyfun's archives that says this:
For my steam cleaner, first I mix 1 gallon of white vinegar with 1 cup of borax. Then I use 1 cup of the solution in my steam cleaner and fill with hot water.

I assume if you didn't want to try the borax addition you could just use 1 cup of vinegar and add enough hot water to fill your tank.
