How do I make a bug bite on my eye go down faster?
By Jillianna from Riverside, CA
There's a limit to what you can put on your eyelids, as they are very delicate, when I have had allergic itchy reactions, I have used health food store Calendula gel & very cold black iced tea also works to relieve swelling.
Use ice in a washcloth to help take down swelling and itch. Take some Benadryl to help also.
When the children were very young, for mosquito bites etc, I was told to dissolve an aspirin (make a paste) in a little water and dab it on the affected area. No more itching, and the swelling was gone in a few hours. Especially when young children and babies skins are so sensitive, this was told to me by a mothercraft nurse so I gave it a try, so glad I did. Kay from Oz
I used to get mosquito bites on my eye lids all the time.it really sucks because my eye would swell up and I would be embarrassed to go to school. My mom used to use a wash cloth with boiling water , and press it against my eye for minutes at a time. This worked, but I do have to admit it didn't work immediately. The process took time. The swelling didn't completely go down until after a few days.

I just got a bug bite on my eyelid; what do I do?
By Jake from TX
I did a search for you and a doctor told someone to do this:
Apply Benadryl cream or generic with cortizone in it. Use ice, put in a facecloth and hold for awhile to relieve swelling. (07/15/2010)
